Clean Green Power
E2SOL also offers an innovative option for customers to support the
development of clean energy and offset the carbon emissions generated from the
power consumed. Since almost all energy users are connected to the grid and it’s
impossible to tell which generator is supplying your energy (many power plants
feed into the grid), First Point Power purchases green energy certificates from wind,
solar, hydroelectric or other clean energy generators, which allow you to claim
the green attributes of the energy produced. A premium will be charged to the monthly standard rate for customers choosing green
energy based on market prices of renewable energy credits. We only offer the
option to offset 100% of your electricity use with clean energy.
The cost of renewable
energy credits depend on a number of factors including State Renewable Portfolio
Standards, expected number of new renewable energy sources added to regional
energy markets, and voluntary demand of green energy by customers. We estimate
the extra cost for customers who wish to offset their energy use with renewable
energy will cost an extra $5- $10 per month on their bill, but prices may be
volatile depending on renewable energy credit prices. This cost will appear as a
separate line item on your bill called “Customer Charge.”
